These are the “new normal” shortboards, replacing the narrow, thin boards we have seen in recent shortboard shapes. The board features a fuller nose with wider outlines running into a swallow tail for extra “bite”. The bottom has a large single concave running into a slight vee in the tail. Ridden 2-3 inches smaller than your traditional performance shortboard, the full outline of the hybrid allows you to catch waves extremely easily, and is very snappy in the pocket. The Hybrid handles best in 2-6ft waves of all conditions.
Offering the best of both worlds, the hybrid features a 5-fin system, allowing the choice between a thruster (three fin) or quad (four fin) setup.
